I've called in a couple of times, but it is very frustrating - they tend to just let you say one thing and then jump off from there, never letting you back in the conversation.
Seems like you get far less air time in NYC on WFAN; they really cut people off & try to keep it moving.
My mom lives outside of Boston & when I'm up there visiting I rarely listen to anything but WEEI in the car. Being a transplanted Bostonian in NYC (20 years & counting) I nonetheless find myself compulsively tuning into the FAN. Mike & the Mad Dog features at least one priceless rant daily.
Sorry if this has been posted before, but this guy's Chris Russo impersonation is impeccable:
I usually can't listen to national shows because the focus is way too much on college sports for my liking. Not that I need "all-local," in fact, I wish my local sports stations would talk about non-Boston teams more ... but I end up turning off ESPN 890 pretty soon after a caller starts off with "I wanna talk about UCLA, Bob"
I was on the JT the Brick overnight show once, years ago ... but I was pretty bad ... I just wanted to talk shit about Clemens crapping out in the big ALCS showdown against Pedro at Fenway, but didn't really have anything worthwhile or funny to say, so he dissed me pretty quickly.

Heard Stephen A. for the first time today ...pretty damn good.
Dave Smith was my shit but he's no longer in L.A.
Local dudes PMS are funny as hell.
Mike Tirico puts me to sleep.

Oh, don't get it confused; basketball is not "sports"
