    Isn't the term produced with Winley a stretch? I thought he was super bootlegger extraordinaire in the 70s only? Did he actually ever produce anything?

    I think he did in the fifties when he recorded doo-wop groups like the Jesters. He had a livelihood before Harlem Underground and hip-hop, his story doesn't start there.

    I've had a Gloria Lynn lp on Winley that I assumed was a reissue of early hits. Not very exciting, but gives an idea of the scope of his bootlegging. He may have been the bootlegger that forced Warner bros to rerelease Lorraine Ellison.

    Loraine Ellison, she should have an appreciation thread.
