    This coming Saturday. Jason's NY visits have been consistently great but for those unawares more info from the Bumpshop Ministry of 411:

    His name is???. Jason Perlmutter. Chapel Hill, North Carolina???s finest is no longer the funk 45 scene???s best kept secret south of the Mason-Dixon Line. An authority on soul recordings from the Carolinas (check his website - www.carolinasoul.org - for a crash course), young JP???s rep has gone global in recent years ??? as colleagues like Kenny Dope and Jazzman Gerald can readily attest. On September 8th Jason returns to the Big Apple for his annual Bumpshop guest gig. This year???s festivities also coincide with some superb NC/SC-related re-releases (Mellow Madness and Bliss 45s for Kenny???s Kay-Dee imprint; the forthcoming Carolina Funk comp for Jazzman Records) that our special guest had a rather huge hand in making happen. And we???ll be doing giveaways! Nuthin??? could be finer!
