I was in mood for 007 last night, I had the complete series to choose from, and I end up with "the man with the golden gun" ....I 've been highly disappointed since the movie looked like a farce or a parody than a real spy story... i mean with 007 movies, hints of humour always been there, but in that movie they went way over the top....cars doing 360 spin in the air ?

From Russia With Love or Thunderball are probably
the most sober Bond films, except for Dr. No, which is
so sober that it's a bore. Goldfinger is probably the
best of them all, as far as a mix of good spy action and
camp humor and hott chicks. Although they all pretty much excel
in the hot chick department. I won't even bother with the
Roger Moore ones, since the one you saw and didn't like is
probably the best one! Actually, "Live and Let Die" is fun
but not something to watch when looking for serious spy action.

"Casino Royale" was awesome but I can't believe it took them that
long to get the idea to re-invent Bond. Thank god they did, it was the
only hope they had to make them watchable again.

I cosign on Goldfinger. It's worth watching for Honor Blackman from the OG Avengers and Shirley Eaton (later went on to the cult classic The Million Eyes Of Su-Muru) alone. I know you said you're not into 007 self-parody, but Operation Kid Brother aka Double 007 with Neil Connery, Sean's brother, is a fun watch as well, if you are able to find it.

that movie was an italian production (..or maybe a coproduction..) so they show in italy on private channels at least one time every couple of years...

BTW anything else with Moore (beside "The Saint" and 007) worth to have a look ?

Don't front. They did that shit for real. Imagine being the stunt driver in that the first time you try it.
