Instead of a Record Day, we should just have a 'State of the Strut Summit,' with symposiums, and ODub, and maybe we could get KRS-One to come be a part of it.

Remember when jonny first showed up and got everybody pissy with his stories about racking records?

Kinda ironic that he owns a store now.

    I WAS THERE.

Never thought I'd be buying that jerk a sixpack several years later and thinking he's good people but hey stranger things have happened.

    PS: That sleepover?

Haha. Yes! I remember the first "ILL RARE STABS" post too, and the relatively minor drama surrounding the DJ Shadow 'Changeling' sample.

  • I remember "Soufriere Appreciation" like it was yesterday.

    Soufriere Appreciation = the Chronic

K in Canada Vindicated = the Chronic 2001

    Was this "Chaffey College revealed"?

Btw I am contesting that, I got another version of that track by the University of Pacific that sounds exactly like the Shadow sample

The Sayer beat-off is one of my earlist Strut memories. Days' scratching. And was it PhilMost who killed it with a Sayer inspired rap? Good times.

Remember when the board crashed and we started a soulstrut email campaign? We probably had a hundred fools using the "Reply All" function, with new folks getting added with each email. Frank's bowlcut photo was passed around. Catchdub's friend's cubicle covered in post-it notes. When the board came back Phill was all pissed cause we had maxed out his account.

    That was funny.

  • I think I may have a bunch of those in one of my old email folders...

I miss The Crates and his steamy "I Love Josh" posts. I hear he moderates at the breaks these days.

"Endless Day". I remember my face melting to that. My housemate just moved out recently n I've been rejigging the home network, sifting through some old harddrives n I remember wondering about a week ago if I still had the mp3 of that joint lying around somewhere. If i ever dig it up I'll be sure to reup.
