i did not mean to discredit the brand nubs, but speaking as another young(er), modern rap fan epmd has a lot more in common with the type of shit brian rides for. though tom breihan and his posse seem to put one for all on a massive pedestal above every like minded record of that era so who knows.
i went through a down period in 9th and 10th grade, between Low End Theory and 36 Chambers...and, didn't hear Bizarre Ride until I was 21.
A few others...
Mecca and the Soul Brother. Owned it on tape and vinyl; never listened to it all the way through. never made it past TROY.
Any Tupac post Strictly for My NIGGAZ
Life After Death (agreed with rootless...like that movie that you've only seen on cable on 6 different saturdays, that you piece together into a movie.)
on another topic, i loved that Willie D tape with him in front of the Whitehouse...pass the Peyote, yo.

Straight up, the first three are great albums, and the first two Brand Nubian records are really good too.
So...how did you find soulstrut if you don't like rap music?

What is this and where can I hear it?
Damn never hearing EPMD! that would have been a crazy decade during the 90s if i never drove around bumpin them.

it's a scarface - 2 song 12" on Short Stop records from 89. It's really good and pretty hard to find.
george hit me with the funk scratch, then after that yo come back and rewind that.
