mp4 to mp3 you mean?
If so, what I've done is fire up Wiretap and do it manually.

Wiretap is a program that lets you record sound coming from your computer, for example, a Real Audio stream.

you can skip the burn cd step.
basically both formats are compressed files. You have to expand the aac file into a wav/aiff, then recompress it as mp3. Obviously the audio quality will suffer.
You can do that simply in itunes, by ripping it back to aiff, then to mp3.

You can't convert a DRM file from the iTunes store. I usually do the burn - re-rip thing if I need to convert to MP3.
