This song is one of those "wait, is this a parody? Oh. No, it's not" joints. I mean, I know it's KRS but he's found a whole new level.

But according to the 1-sheet:
I>Marley Marl and KRS-One have put aside all differences for "Hip-Hop Lives", a masterpiece of production and lyricism from beginning to end./I>
"put aside all differences", please tell me they didn't just get over the whole bridge/bronx thing?
Plaese to post that GIF of the crazy of KRS-One.
Krs hasn't made a dope joint in a looooooooooooong time (10 years?).
At least. Dude is such a mixed bag, everytime I hear something appaling (i.e. that Stanford "the enemy is at the table" incident) then I hear something real good, people seeing him live and being real impressed. Not feelin the egotistical BS here though.
That's so last century.
That's his only saving grace: his live show. He really does have enough material that is familiar to the crowd where he can just rip through like a mix-tape. It's pretty impressive actually.
A friend wrote to say, "hey, KRS is dissing Jeff [Chang]" on a new song and my response was, "huh?" I went and listened and he's probably dissing Jeff, Adisa and a host of other folks who basically showed him his ass at Stanford last year.

Naw - his craziness isn't at issue. That's pretty much understood. It's just amazing to hear once-great-artists recording
HAHAHA! This dudes comment is hilarious
i did like the marley marl (is that marly marl?) beat
desperately grasping at his long-departed relevance.
Call me
I just wish he would get a schitt hot beat and make a good record again.
Don't change shit, except "there" = "crazy"
Maybe. But where were you, P-row?
I never published anything about what legitimate 'rap music' is supposed to sound like, so I don't think it matters much.
not bad
Change "I Was There" to "I Don't Care".
Pfffft. What a cop-out.
We all know the correct answer is "On 3rd and Newcomb right in the heart of HPeeeeeeeee...."
just this week Eric Arnold attributed in no small part the failure of hyphy artists to get major label deals to this dude's incarceration.
Malcolm ave at Olympic BLVD.
