I'm listening to arelean brown "i've broken many hearts" right now, and it has left me wanting more funk with blues elementsmaybe albertina walker "love one another", alex williams & the mustangs "the thrill aint gone", patti drew "beggar for the blues", andrew brown "you made me suffer" could fit in to the same sound..can anyone suggest any funky blues/bluesy funk?

Any of U.S. Warren's records...
Just about any of Bobby Rush's seventies records. Of course there's the Rush Hour album on Philadelphia Int'l, which is surprisingly hard considering Gamble & Huff produced it, but you may also want to track down singles like "Get Out Of Here" (Warner Bros.) and "Chicken Heads" (Galaxy).
great record.
also arlean brown's "impeach me baby" is stellar.
BOOM.
With all the reissues of soul-blues from the Jewel/Ronn/Paula vaults, this song must[/b] have turned up on some album by now. I know damn well the single won't be given away free on the corner with every crack shipment, so I see no shame in buying it on a compilation album. Anyone know if this tune has been anthologized?
(Cue some high-roller: "Oh, I see 'The Thrill Ain't Gone' CHEAP all the time...it was just $100 on eBay!")
while i am no high roller, i picked my copy up back in the day for only about 25 bucks minty. has the value for this one gone up over the last 3 years or so?
thats little mack simmons on there.
I love me some Jr., feel real lucky that I got to see him live...it was like seeing Spacemen 3 on the trance aspect...just a riff/groove driven for all she got
