ha. i did a bunch of these when i was in college, mostly fraternity events. i got caught off guard when i did a sorority formal and the event chair asked me to play a few slow songs. after going through my crates a few times the best i could come up with was back-to-back slow cuts off of the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Needless to say, "beautiful, beautiful zion" wasn't exactly setting the mood.
I just did a frat formal in Cincinnati last weekend. They ate dinner first and just wanted to hear some "jazz" during that shit. Afterwards they all went up to there hotel rooms and banged out a few shots, came back down and were looking to get rowdy right away. Started off with fast shit like Me So Horny, Tootsie Roll, Woomp and other shit that would give their women some slutty nostaligia moments from prom or whatever.
As far as slow songs...dropped shit like Pony, Anywhere by 112, Bump N Grind, Slow Jamz - Twista
Stay away from anything that they don't have the option to Grind to (like that aerosmith song from armageddeon. )
