There is actually one place you should check out for records, called All City records. I picked up some decent 45s there with trade credit. If you're from the U.S., bring some "commons" for trade if you have doubles to give up, because you'll get more than fair credit for them by U.S. standards. All City apparently changed locations since I was there (I think they're no longer at 7 Crow St), so you should hit up the owner by email, who is a very cool guy named Olan.
