We haven't had a thread like this in a while. I'd be curious what you guys would rate as the best of the best. I hoping to instigate a heated debate. Here is a rough go off the top of my head in no particular order based on listen-ability through out the entire LP.-Del Jones "Positive Vibes"-East of Underground-Mark XII "Marvin Whoremonger"-McNeal & Niles "Thrust"-TBD.....Thoughts and/or disagreements and/or additions?

Are you being sarcastic on the Boscoe or do you mean it?
I personally love this album.
you mean
INVADERS
and then...boscoe
right??
Steady Wailin' Sid "spirit of '76"
Just a couple from my neck of the woods...
Isnt' this more of a 1-tracker?
absolutely. ~! that reminds me, mine is for sale!

Ray Alexander Technique
Pied Piper of Funkingham

Turner bros. is okay. I don't much get with the disco-ness. Like the sweet soul tho.
I'm debating selling my boscoe. I just don't keep pricey records around for window dressing.
I really really dig east of underground. I wish I still had it. My pain will be subdued if the reissue is better mastered and the vocals don't blow out my eardrums.
You sold that in Heatrocks right? helluva thing to do. Those were the days around these parts.
I still think alot of the MASSIVE private funk LPs are unknown/guarded. I got one I can't blow the lid off from LA for sure.
not even
I've been listening quite a bit to this since you posted it a while ago.
Belated thanks for upping that.
I really dig that low budget freaky funk sound.
... but you listen to Mannekind for recreational purposes?
It's just us here, you can tell us. Or perhaps you want to show a picture?
Open-shirted miles bites are my disco boogie.
I get buck wild.
Speaking of which, I kind of want his shirt.
Pharaohs are cool. Not straight up funk but top of the pile here as far as I'm concerned. Just an amazing album.
They sold a lot more albums than the other things discussed here. More than some majors.
I feel you on that, I have one Australian LP from Canberra that was a 200 copy thing, sounds like it was recorded in the kitchen, but has that "Axelrod" kind of darkness to it without the strings.... Even got a letter written to the music director at a Sydney radio station from one of the bands members in it....
And a Japanese LP that's crazy psych funk to boot. But yeah, never lettin' those out the bag....
peace.
V.A. Jammin In The Joint (Delta Custom)
East Of Underground (Cardinal Avalon)
Bobby Williams Funky Superfly (Fan Club issue)
King Solomon Energy Crisis (alternate press with paste-on xerox)
Mark II Marvin Whoremonger (Blacklite)
Curtis Liggins Indications (Damon acetate)
Shades Of Madness (Century)
Truly not that many private funk outings on LP.
Is this that Prison LP with the Rodeo cover?
No...that was from TX, this is from Joliet.
nate, you put the whoremonger on cd?
I have it on a CD from my copy, yes.
Koushik if you're in Burlington give a shout.
