It would seem that the kids at Breaks.Com can so much cooler than you lot?, posters here seem to jump on other posters and smack them around the head with a firm let me tell you record lesson 1 Newbie or some shit.
All I am trying to do is ask some knowledgeable non arrogant heads what the sample is I am looking for...
getting all asshurt over a classic breakbeat
that beat your looking for is
god made me funky
http://www.zshare.net/audio/godmademefunky-wav.html
another of the most popular breaks around
asswipe.
now get your lame ass to the breaks.com
THAT UNPOSSIBLE!
you in the head
what a tool
and how could i forget
now get out of here you little scumbag
..that's a keeper!
BTW who's got that "drive by little dude" greamlin?
-------
It's Dyke & The Blazers-Let A Woman Be A Woman...
first used by Three Times Dope-Da Giddy Up (1989)...
anyway no hard feelings and sorry for being a complete intoxicated tosspot
If someone is asking a question asnwer him, or shut the fuck up ??
Making jokes is OK too.
But telling someone to dont aks questions is fucked up.
Maybe thats the whole problem of the American society.
Yo its not patriotic to ask for that sample.
So, TO ANSWER THAT QUESTION:
The metal sound you are meaning and refering to is NOT a beat you fools.
It is a Synth sound.
And this synth is a small portion from "Fly like an Eagle" from the Steve Miller Band.
It is from the part when the synth is going all spacy and making this dope padsound.
It sounds so fucked up because it was sampled into a SP12. Thats what they had at Studio 1212 and that was Paul C's and Ced Gee's favourite machine.
If you pitch that a bit down it sounds like metalic shit because of the aliasing effect. Wikipedia that word.

Pffft. You are just uneducated on the enlightened state of
Germany, where Brother can approach Brother on the street and
ask, "Mein Herr - what was the vocal sample on the "Eric B is
President" remix? Das one that says 'special mix' - ???"
-and receive not only the sample info, but the map to a secret
record store that sells all holy grail breaks and the only funky
James Last LP for 1 euro apiece! And a free weinerschnitzle!
It's all good man, I was drunk when I psoted but it does annoy me when posters are quick to give me the
I'm still pretty sure it's Dyke & The Blazers-Let A Woman Be A Woman...
i checked the original and a few other artists that sampled and it sounds the same, but who knows?
Believe me, beside our free society where everybody is allowed to ask for some samples and the massive amount of schnitzels we eat every day I developed a perfect ear or call it something like a Audio-photographic ear, I KNOW that this metalic sample is from Steve Miller and absolutley NOT from Dyke & the Blazers.
Here check out the sample from Steve Miller, I EQed it a little bit too:
METALIC SOUND
Waht I did is I took the left channel of the Steve Miller track (remeber the
Paul C article by Dave Tompkins and how he mentioned that Paul C taught the Ultras to seperate channels ?? He did that with the 45 Version of Dee Felice Trios - There was a time. He could lift the drums of that track because they were panned)
On the right channel you have more of the organ and a wind noise, on the left channel you got the synth.
And to listen to the original sample in its whole context here is the part of Steve Millers tune where it was sampled from:
PART OF THE TUNE
By the way, it is not only the first time that Ced Gee sampled this tune, he often re-used his samples or even whole tracks.
BUT
I even found out more as I listened to Steve Millers track.
Ced Gee not only sampled the Synth of "Fly like an Eagle" he also sampled the Bass.
Check your zShare file at minute 1.10 and listen to the bassline that is coming in. Thats the bassline of "Fly like an Eagle", compare it to the bassline you can here in the Steve Miller sample above.
CHECK 1.10 MIN OF BREAK NORTH
As I realised that he sampled the bass I checked out the other parts of "Break North" where some basshits are used.
Like in the beginning, those basssounds are also parts of the "Fly like an Eagle" bassline just pitched down and triggered.
That should help you with your sample question. Give me credit for my perfect-audio-photographic-ear in your article !!!!!!
Peace
Hawkeye

@ Soul On Ice
By the way, a Schnitzel is an Austrian invention, but forget it, I know that a lot of dudes dont even know the diffrence between Austria and Australia, so fuck it.
And we Germans are known to inhale everything that is Austrian and act like it is ours, so our fault not yours.
We are known for that over 70 years now and we even inhaled the whole of Austria 69 years ago, so Austria is just another state of Germany.
Whatever you say is right my friend !!!!!
I can't laugh with-but-about-you, thats more I can say about a lot of other people, so feel honoured !!!!!
Thats enough from my side of the galaxy, I know have to work on my Rebel Base !!
