PM'd.
You coming to Austin again this year Big L****?? Sucks no Spring show.
some of the best food i've ever eaten in my life.5 star restaurant.
my best friend is the pastry chef, if it looks interesting to you let me know and i'll give him a call.
Jesus man, what the hell have you done to your cat?
i emailed it to my mom and told her it was him, she sent it out to all the family and shit. she was a lil pissed when i told her it wasnt really him.
i originally ganked it from myspace. i've seen a few variations of it with lemons and limes but i like this one cuz it looks just like my miles.
I'm so down!!! lemme know if your boy's there on friday or saturday and I'll roll thru!
good looks!
Austin Land and Cattle
12th and Lamar
6th st is a serious headache at night.
Magnolia Cafe, as well as Kirby Lane Cafe have gingerbread pancakes. pancake .
Barton Springs could be worth a visit if the weather is nice.
Bats at Congree st bridge. If you go there at dusk it's a pretty crazy sight.
of course there's plenty of good local bands.
I'm sure records have been covered but:
Friends of Sound = So necesary
Waterloo for cd's and reissue action
backspin
Sound on Sound
I'll try to think up some other shit.
and now my friends, I have the breakfast spot!!!!
I think all the meals are set - I'm assuming I can throw a crumpled piece of paper of get good Tex-Mex.
Magnolia and Kerbey Lane are indeed great for breakfast...but if you get there before noon, Hoover's has that real down home ish that sons anything else in town.
Yup yup. And chances are if it's before noon you won't have to wait as long as you would at those other spots.
Damn. It's been a minute. I might have to go holler at some Hoover's breakfast this weekend myself.

lunch: Taqueria Sabroso - E. 7th Street just past Shady Lane (before you hit 183)
hands down my favorite low-key spot in the city.
essentially a taco trailer situated on the grounds of a former nursery
with a very congenial parrot in a cage
and delicious and fast tacos
cheap.
dinner: Hoover's
no details necessary.
Records: Dave will be your spirit guide. Fly with him.
Bar: I recommend going to the Beauty Bar to go meet up with Harvey Canal. He's always chilling over there.
But for real, if you need a drrrriiinnnkkkkk... i honestly can't remember what bars i even went to and liked.... i'm gonna go with Casino El Camino - not for ambiance, but strictly for perhaps the best burgers in town, constant zombie flicks while eating, and the gorgeous lady i met there for a weekend fling last summer.
Peace.
I can endorse those places 90% but the new new shit is the STALLION GRILL. It's on Airport and it used to be holliday house bbq. Lay down $5 and you are walking out with a mean stomach ache and a massive dump 8 hours later. I'm talking chicken fried steak not as big as any face but as big as Rocky Dennis' face.
I have to co-sign all this.. Sabroso is a taco stand mas bueno. They have this plate the Sabroso which gets you some mixed beef/pork and rice and beans. Get extra tortillas and guac - when you get a side of guac there it's not like a solo cup it's a giant cup of guac. I want to go it that shit RIGHT NOW.
Casino El Camino burgers are HIGHLY reccomended. That and Lovejoy's are the only places off 6th street I visit. I don't know how you roll but 6th street it generally sort of a disaster unless you are going to see a show or are looking to get in to a fight with some frat guys. But my idea of disaster might be your idea of a good time.
I gotta say also visit the original tamale house on airport. That's the distilled spirit of austin right there. Suits, cops, migrant workers, homeless dudes, gutter punks, hippies, emo chicks.. for a few minutes everyone is equal when waiting in line for tacos at tamale house.
Damn this makes me wish I was visiting Austin.
Lunch - Gueros on Congress - Excellent fish tacos and great margaritas, within walking distance of Friends of Sound records (Be sure to ask for the top shelf 45s)
the fucked up thing is i type in hippie church and this is actually what pops up.
a photo from taco express.
i challenge your Gueros recommendation however.
and offer Polvo's.
