I thought his price was pretty fair, since it's a $60-$85 record on eBay.
He's had it for a while, and takes offers - he does trades, too.
WHEN THE HELL DID THIS TURN INTO A $60-85 RECORD?!?!!!??
I've been selling copies for $30-40 for YEARS. That is GAS, dude.
Hey, I forgot all about this thread until now, but like I said, those were eBay prices I was quoting - the last 4 copies on eBay, from late Nov-early Feb sold for:
So, yeah, while $85 is obviously the high end, $60 seems to be the going eBay rate for a decent copy - a sealed one could reach $100, and I just thought that Schoggi's $55 for a real clean copy seemed reasonable.
Before you say it: I KNOW EBAY IS NOT A PRICE GUIDE
that is unreal, like 1995-era prices on that shit.
it's not a particularly rare record, and I thought everyone got over that "Pete Rock Sample Source" craze years ago.
"Pete made a banga off this, son!!!" is eternal

I was going to say something about sample source records not getting above the bottom row of my wall and then I looked up and saw that Ike Turner LP.
:HATETHEGAME:
Haha... samples aside, I still think Ike Turner is a pretty good record.
Is there anything you still like, or is the record fatigue now complete? You will soon be forced to abandon records entirely and start collecting ceramic figurines or something.
I've personally moved a mint ernie hines promo high as $100, but it's always a $60+ lp on ebay depending on factors like who's online searching... away on vacation or any other hundred reasons someone is missing it. Our generation is a classic.... get it cheap on strictly breaks petes treats!

yes sir, always! $60 dunno why people think it's so cheap.... if it sold less then 60 the quality was weak... VG, and i'd say it's fetching high prices simply because it's not reissued.... that lp would not hold high value should it get a reissue sometime. at least imo, either way i'd much rather pay $30 for a lou bond on ebay if you ask me that one's undervalued.
this record seems to pop up a lot more often on the east then it does over here in Cali for some reason. I've only seen two copies of it. One I sold on ebay for $90.

What part of "not looking to spend over $40" do you not understand?
Incidentally, I am in search of a copy of Is It Because I'm Black?. I'm not willing to pay over $100, though.
not willing to pay over $.99 though.

Dude is mad cool and will probably take care of you, trust me.
It was always a $40 record, until what appears to be the last year or two; ebay is not a priceguide? Dunno.
