All 3 Lps in his United States of Mind series on Blue Note are of similar quality, people either tend to love or hate them. If you liked that song, you will want to have all 3. Blue Note just reissued all 3 LPs together on a 2CD Conniseuer Collection last year, so they are easily available in that foormat, otherwise be prepared to dig for All, Total Response, and That Healing Feeling and pay out between $15-40 a piece depending on who's selling them. Also check for Silver's work on his own label Silveto, from the early 80s, as some of them feature similar vocal tracks about similar topics.

Andy Bey's solo LP 'Experience and Judgement' is quite similar, but more funky and soul oriented. Bey's work with Gary Bartz would also be up that same alley.

  • Larry Young's "Contrasts" features a track with a similar vibe. It's called "Wild is the Wind."

Both Eddie Gale albums are essentials.

Steve Kuhn's "Live in New York" is another.

Walt Barr's "East Winds" has a couple of these types of tracks: "East Winds" and "Creepin'."
