I know, I was thinking that too. Two things wrong with that description. 1. It's not psychish at all (why does psych immediatly apply to any and all folk albums???)
And 2....that album is BRILLIANT. Not quite as good as her first, but damn beautiful stuff.
(thanks Moark!)
On SoulStrut, all music by white people = "psych" and all music by Black people = "funk".

Damn, WTF is that woman wearing? Looks like she took a cotdamn carpet and is using it in the manner of a bath towel.
So true.
PSYCH-FUNK[/b]
I think you are pretty close, but it is from some curtains. Robert is that with that suit and tie though.
It's drugged out and syncopated? Got a drum break and crazy lyrics about orgasmic goo? No way!!!
But in all seriousness psych-funk stuff is .
Sorry if my descriptions aren't up to par. I listened to each record for about 2 seconds as I don't really have access to a player until I get back to VT.
I will restrain my comments next time.
You know the first two:
You should know this one. Crazed Beefheart-like psych with breaks (on a major label):
Dude, you are the fastest listener on the planet. A true "finger listener" !!!

Hahaha now be nice!!
now you really gots no chance at the orq. esencia, bwana, or spirit of david.
One thing wrong with this description. 1. Brilliant? Seriously? Maybe if you replaced Karen's metallic and tuneless squawking with the lithe voice of a capable vocalist I'd consider it listenable...MAYBE. Yikes. I've found this album 4 times in the last 2 years and have re-listened to it each time, thinking maybe I'd finally get it. Sadly, I got it perfectly well the first time. The record sucks, and not only does it suck but it's also completely un-weird, thus making it useless for the purposes of our sister site.
Well, there definitely are more sisters over there.
Your post reads very W*******y circa 11/06: "what sucks and why"
