Sounds like a contradiction in terms but good rock with no guitars can be made.Teegarden & Van Winkle tore it up with the drums/organ combo for great stoner hammond jazz rock.

Clouds utilized a similar setup but added bass guitar for a more prog sound:

Love that Teegarden & Van Winkle, one of the few good records I bought in Copenhagen this summer. The Pookah LP deserves mention in this thread, I think.

Crazy Elephant's 1969 album on Bell - even though half the tracks have guitar on them, the band themselves had no guitarist at all (check the personnel listing on the back cover). After hearing the inept guitar solo on their hit "Gimme Gimme Good Lovin'", maybe there's a reason for that. Anyway, if you listen closely, you can hear the tracks that are guitarless.
