Anybody else totally dig this chick/band? Shit is soooo genius... especially as far as mixing oddball samples and synthesizers and singy songy happy songs all at the same time without it being a complete trainwreck. this is the most creative music i've heard in years. If you are on soulseek I'd recomend "Erik" to start with. its really short, only like 17 minutes, but those 17 minutes are so fucking awesome. I also like Cityrama too.I know I'm not the only one up on this.... come and celebrate... it EngRish at its most entertaining!

  • Hello all...
    First post, cheers.

I'm living in Tokyo and used to listen to Yukari and that whole Escalator Records crew all the time. Before they got super French...?
Certainly not for everyone, but very interesting and unique.
Could in no way be described as
But Shiit...that shit was my shit.
    She's got a new one which I haven't heard.

But if you're diggin it, also check out:
Yugo[star] (yukari's husband), Citrus (trebel insanse), Losfeld (ESC label prex Masashi Naka), and the best of the bunch: CUBISMO GRAFICO (Gakuji Matsuda 1/2 of Neil & Iraiza, who weren't as sample based, but just as good).

I recommend Cubismo Grafico's first LP "TOUT!" and the mini LP "mini".
If you don't have it, grab that Bungalow comp from years back "Escalator Records TOKYO" which is worth the price for Cubismo's "Salon a Sunday" alone.

But back to the Shibuya-kei at hand...
