Saturday afternoon, I was on the bus headed for Chicago to DJ with my crew from St. Louis. The plan was that my dude Kenny Kingston and I were gonna do a 4 turntable set, each of us rockin' a microwave.Just as he did a few months earlier, Mr. Kingston left his Serato box at home. We freaked out since the DJs who were hosting us didn't use Serato and didn't know anyone locally who did.I took the Soulstrut route... Cosmo Baker, Mr. Alien Iverson himself, after receiving one quick text message, went out of his way to put out an all-points-bulletin, and was able to track down a DJ in Chicago, his friend Ralph, who was willing to go out of his way to meet my crew at dinner and drop off his $500 Serato box to loan us for the night with absolutely no worries whatsoever. Drinks were gonna be on us, but he never showed up for the night. You hear about all the shootings, the war, the bullshit, but then something like this happens and it completely restores your faith in humanity. Next time any of you see either of these folks, shake their hand and buy them a drink.

Props to Laserwolf and all the strutters who contributed to Beats Over Baghdad.
I very much appreciate that from the bottom of my heart.

I gotta say what up to magic_jackson (even though he's not around much these days) for the hospitality.

Damn, it seems like every strutter that I met have been like family.

I met Tony at the corner today. He was leaving his laptop with me so I could fix a few things while he's overseas. I opened the zipper a bit in the elevator of my building and out pops the Lotus Land press of Pamoja's "Oooh Baby" with my name on the sleeve.

I'VE BEEN MEANING TO PICK THIS UP, but just never got around to it!

Local good lookin' out is always what's up.

DJ Daze made a 2 hour roundtrip drive to pick me up from Rock The Bells a couple weeks ago.

Then he dumped me in the middle of Hollywood so he could spend time with his new (and extremely male) Norwegian dancer friend.
