i can't believe skratch piklz vs. x-men isn't on youtube! (at least i couldn't find it)... i've got the video on vhs, but i don't even own a vcr anymore... there is actually a lot of shit i'm suprised isn't on there, like turntable tv parts, a lot of skratchcon, etc.
man, i burned so much fucking weed and drank so many 40s staying up, watching videos to get hype, and then locking myself in the turntable room with my friends trying to master certain scratches... seems pretty silly now, but that was my shit for a long time... everybody would be going out to bars trying to holler at girls, and i would stay home and watch the '98 dmc U.S. finals for the millionth time lol

Skratching kind of died because nobody really stepped in to fill the shoes of the ISP. Skratch DJ's really doing good shit like A-Trak were simply untouchable and everyone else simply wasn't impressive. Plus girls never really gave a shit about skratching.

Nah, I think the scene faded away because a lot of newer dudes who were involved (let's say from 2002-present) were very technical, yet they lacked soul/charisma/innovativeness/etc. I don't wanna see you do a reverse flare crab chirp chop scratch for 5 minutes. I wanna see you get funky, nahmean?? The souless nerds drove it into the ground.
