United in Nashville does, and they ask that if you have samples, you have all the paper work ready to present to them BEFORE they even consider making your vinyl. Kinda silly, considering that selling 500 to 1000 records isn't going to cause a dent in Barry White's estate.

I've had past projects done through Richard Simpson Mastering, who then pressed the vinyl at Bill Smith Custom Records. I like the quality of the vinyl they do, and while I haven't gone the colored vinyl route, I like having the option to go crazy as they are able to make any color cobinations you want, including splatter vinyl if you want that.

Has anyone ever had any test pressings or records mastered at Aardvark?

• Has anyone printed an lp jacket that lives between Eugene, Oregon and Vancouver, WA/Portland area? I would love to find a competitively priced printer around here, support your local business sort of thing, would save me a whole hell of a lot of hassles for my next project.

SAMO media, my biz, can do that. Especially for 7" jackets our rates are really cheap, but we're good on the LP jackets too - 1000 of em will cost $720 USD plus shipping.

• Paul, thanks, sounds like a its a normal price for an lp. the "plus shipping" portion of printing is what I'm trying to cut out by hunting down a local guy.

Totally makes sense - well, let me know if you want me to quote you on shipping (I'd need a full address). You can email it to me at paul@samomedia.com if ever you're interested.

thx - sorry for all the adverts on here, i didn't intend it to turn into that...haha.

I am not sure who does basic covers, but there is a place in Portland that can create some hi-pro letterpress covers, called Stumptown Printers:

I had wanted to do a cover through Star Shaped in Chicago:
http://www.starshaped.com

But Stumptown is much closer, so if it goes through I'd like to try something through them.

I am sure there has to be a few punk co-ops that would be able to do something, though.

• unfortunately they had this to say:
To be honest, we're probably nowhere near competitive on a 4 color 12"
LP job. We run 1 color presses, so 4 runs is a lot of labor ... you
might talk to the folks at CD Forge and see if they can help you out.
