Outside of owning maybe 2 of their records each, I don't know a lot about either of these dudes but just the concept of this mixtape is incredible:Click for soundclips
Comedia is a salsa dollar bin classic. El Cantante (actually written by Ruben Blades) is the shining moment of the tail end of Hector's career.
My main gripe with this Pun/Lavoe mixtape is that its Pun rhyming over Lavoe's music, only that Hector was only a lyrics writer and not a composer or arranger. Its really just exploiting the name Hector Lavoe for the upcoming movie. Speaking of which, a friend caught a sneak preview and said Mark Anthony was awesome singing, but that the acting scenes were boring. She said maybe because of the script but Mark and JLo were bland.

This new joint is no Steely Dan, but it sounds decent from the clips.

Though I'm sure any "Pun Lavoe Mixtape" google search will yield some sellers with this CD.
Thanks!
One of the best latin records ever made in any era.
