Damn! Chicago friendly? You wouldn't be saying that if you came to my old neighborhood!(Howard Street-The Jungle for all you Chicagoans). I guess the friendly people are really friendly though.

I'm confused w/ NYC making it on people's 'nice' lists. How quickly we forget studio 54.

This is real accurate, although I would replace Memphis with Austin and St. Louis with Indianapolis, and replace El Paso with Dallas.

Most if not all New Yorkers I know are transplants.

    The real locals are:

I was actually offended that NYC is on the nice list.

    lol.

i should also add Baltimore and DC to friendliest - i'm not joking! admittedly, this is memories of yesteryear i'm talking about. we used to go all the time when i was growing to visit family and i was always floored at how nice and chatty folks were (coming from Toronto)...especially at the height of "DC is the most dangerous city in N America" and all that.

California is weird. Southern half is not friendly at all. Northern half is quite friendly for the most part. We really should cut the fucker in half.

yeah Raj. DC on the rude list? Oh, I forgot you hang out in Montgomery County.

Only place I've been where I thought people are rude overall is Boston. But it's still a beautiful town. Especially in the Fall.

    Rude:

    Los Angeles
    Boston

    Friendly:

    Berkley/SF

I found downtown Chicago to be more self-contained and seasonally depressed than rude.

sayin' dude. I'm suprised people don't get their asses beat the fuck out there. Especially in places like Melrose. BUT! When you do meet nice people, they're hella nice.

Native New Yorkers are some of the nicest people I've ever met. They don't put up with bullshit, but they are very social and accepting. It's the transplants that are the dickheads. The asshole banker from ohio who thinks he can be a dick to people now that he live in NYC.

There are very few native washingtonians left in DC. The douchebag diplomat's sons and government employed fratboys are enough to make me want to never return. It used to be one hell of a cultural blast.

I'm surprised no one said Portland or Seattle for nice places. Those would be my top two for over-polite nail biters.

You don't have your timing right... if it was a Kemetic Suns show you would've only been 13 at the time.
