O-, My girl and I have been quietly watching your little girl grow up via these photos, which I suppose is simultaneously a little creepy and sorta sweet.
I don't upload snaps all tha regularly, but there are some shots of characters you will recognize.
I've gots that one, and I like it. Pretty durable... goes with me everywhere, even when I'm not completely sober. As with any LCD camera, becareful not to let it slide around in your pocket, purse, etc., cuz the screen will get scratched up. Buy a case quick-like!
thanks for the advice. how would you rate it in low light situations?
I've gotten it down alright using the nightshot (delayed shutter/flash) feature and with adjusting the ISO settings. I still have fun with low-light shots... streaming beams and what-not. I'll post some I just took in Koreatown/LA a week or so ago. As with any low-light shot finding some stabilization is key.
I think you'll like it. After a week or so, you'll be flying through different settings specific to your setting. Easy to get down.
The first photo will be on display at the Cedar Rapids Art Museum from September to January (demensions: 3.5 ft by 5 ft aprox.). I always forget about my flickr account, but you've all inspired me to put more up which I will do soon.
You have a very good eye/great sense of composition.
I need a new camera. Mine is old and the pixels are starting to go out.

Ahhhhhh thanks! Really appreciate that, day.
I forget whose images these were, but I liked these a lot:
Did some of you with lots of photos reduce your file size or get the $25 year subscription? I already screwed myself by uploading at full rez which sucked up almost all of my month's bandwith.

Use the Flickr Uploadr program. It can auto-resize the images for you and save on your bandwidth usage. I set all of mine to 800x600 and don't reach my upload limit.

Ah, thanks. Now I gotta wait 30 days for more bandwidth? Do I dare get sucked into paying a year's fee?
i haven't subsribed yet because i have an existing paid pbase.com account and i need to start migrating about 1400 photos. i think the flickr subscription is worth it because of the unlimited storage. although pbase is cool for being able to use customizable css for styling the galleries, it is roughly the same price as flickr ($23 for the year) but only allows you a limit of 400mb which sucks compared to flickr's unlimited storage which i could really use..
i also like how there's a calendar archive function so you can easily look for picture sets by the month they were taken.
yeah, before i upload pics i just resize them to 800x600,you save on storage space and it takes less time for flickr to upload them.
i'm michael,i just joined this site,i'd like to extend a hearty and thanks for the kind words about my pics.
i never knew that rummaging thru peoples shit (thrift shops, estate sales, attics) looking for records was something that other people did,my wife thinks i'm an idiot.

Yes. digging the pics as well. What kind of gear do you use?
i use a canon 5d and a few polaroid cams.i worked as a roofer to buy the 5d since i didn't want to sell any of my kids (i have 3),very worth it.
One of these days I will graduate to a 5D. Next step is the 20D which just plummeted in price thanks to the release of the 30D which has the same processor just a larger LCD screen. And don't get me started about lenses. Photography is not a cheap hobby! but like you said, it is very worth it!
I am going to make the "Pro" account move when I buy a new camera. Very very worth it.
Also, for new people joining, there is a limit of 200 photos. HOWEVER, once you go over, the old images are still stored on the database. Hence if you buy a pro account, the old images beyond 200 will show up once again. More incentive to buy....
ps: for iPhoto users, there is a built in uploader plug-in that works even better than the flickr uploader. Check it out, it's in their upload tools section. Organize organize, it's all about sets and keywords people.
i added a mess of new pictures using my prehistoric 2.1 mp nikon cool pix which always turned out shitty pics.... but this time i used the color flash with it
I love flickr, problem is, my wife is Dutch, in Dutch the word 'flikker' loosely translates to 'faggot'. Picture me telling my mother-in-law that her grandson???s photos are on faggot.com...
Anyways, use the uploader: its great, and don???t front; go pro.

Mostly a way to keep the family in NZ up-to-date on the little guy, but also a great place to dump all my other photos.
