I'm going to visit Portland, OR and Los Angeles, CA.Anyone here who knows about any cratedigging related stores in Portland?I only know about the hiphop stores in portland, I know they have a little bit of jazz and such at 360 Vinyl, but the selection is pretty small and common. Im looking for jazz, breaks, soul, funk, library, deep grooves, etc. You know what we all dig for.Im not going to stay more than one or two days in LA, so it would be nice to find a shop or two in Portland, where im going to stay for about two weeks.Peace.

    Portland:

    Crossroads (this is the big'un)

    Everyday Music (two easy-to-find locations)

    2nd Avenue Records

Jump Jump (shop owned by Laserwolf on the Soul Strut forums)

There are quite a few other decent stores, just look in the phone book.

Enter the city, state and business name:

    http://www.dexonline.com/

That should give you phone numbers too, in case you need to know store hours.

Those are some good ones; in PDX I'd also recommend Jackpot.
One location on Hawthorne another on Burnside.
They stock mass reissues, and some ORG's. They let some serious pieces slip through for cheap. At the Hawthorne store I scooped a Billy Brooks-Windows of the Mind and SOUL-Can You Feel It for $5 each. And I don't even live in PDX, so either I have really good luck there, or they have no clue about the value of breaks/soul/funk etc.
    Happy Hunting!

Vinyl Resting Place in St John's. Good peeps and, ususally, decent prices. Folk heat is their specialty.
