What track do you find yourself ending the night with? tjames

To me, that's one of the ultimate "go home" tracks at the end of a GOOD party.
Sam Cooke - Having A Party (this was at a house party/BBQ where 4 record nerds took turns playing records all afternoon/into the night)
World's Famous Supreme Team - Hey DJ (just let it play out, girls were singing along)
Velvet Underground - After Hours (this was the last song AFTER the last song to try to get people to leave the bar)
Nice.. mine seems to be "Mind playing tricks on me", which always seems appropriate, yet odd since it's the only rap record I play(?).
Ooooh, that's a good one!! I'll do it next week.
I've been known to close with Long E and Short I from the AEIOU kids record, and
wait for it.........
that disco version of the Star Wars theme.

On the atmospherics tip: "Look Sharp" Ocote Soul Sounds
My most memorable finale was closing a particularly wild night with Coltrane's "Equinox", 8 minutes 33 saeconds of pure blues transcendance. The crowd just started swaying together and slowing dancing. When it was over my DJ partner look at me and said, "You are a fucking genius!". One of my best moments as a DJ ever.
got to go
Desireless "voyage voyage" (the longer/punchier italo mix..)
Also i must say that's one thing i really like about northern soul culture, they often have an "ender" to finish off their sets with, most oftwn beat ballad paced stuff or such, i usually go with an epic 2stepper or some really deep soul 45 that has a nice and slow beat to it.. either that or Jan Hammers "crocketts theme".

I just discovered Billy Jones, (can i get a late pass?) thats some sweet sweet stuff right there.
spots in nyc close at 4am
or Paul Butterfield - I Don't Want to Go
When it's a really, really good night I like to end with Otis Brown's "Who's gonna take me home". Also, I've seen Brenton Wood's "Oogum Boogum" play the part of the cherry on top.
Thanks to all who contributed to my inquiry.
