I respect the fact that he used to do long shows in small venues. I also respect that he sings about working Americans. It's just his music I don't like.
Anyone even remotely interested in taking a second look into his catalogue should check out "Darkness On The Edge Of Town," "The River" and "Nebraska". "Born In The USA" is a great album too, but I can see people getting caught up by the (over)production. And, I'm sure everyone knows "Born To Run".
As far as live shows, everyone should check out his '78 show at the Winterland. Bruce is on fire. He did a show in Philly for the Vietnam Vets that is pretty good too. If anyone is interested, I can upload these.
Bruce, afterall, is one of the performers Prince used to check out for inspiration for his live show. That says a lot.
and Greetings from Asbury Park
and that is all i have to say about that.
"I'll turn you on, sonny, to something strong if you play that song with the funky break"
Docterate Studies Gangsta Rap music.
The more you think of it the more you realize that the 90's truly had some bizarre rap acts.
i have to be in the right mood to listen to it. actually pretty much never listen to it, but still: RESPECT DUE
Still play 'The Wild, The Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle' a bunch every summer. Great LP.
Wrapped up like a douche
a runner in the night
?
take that sh*t to the 'Anyone like Manfred Mann' thread, son.
it's actually
revved up like a duece (as in duece coup)
another runner in the night.
can't get into the boss
who wants a rare boss disco 12"?
saying. but it is kind of a bummer.
The first three albums are the shit....[/b]
"Blinded by the light" is the only song he's written that made it to #1, and it wasn't even his version.
He said he wrote that song by just sitting down with a rhyming dictionary.
My bro is a HUGE fan. The Boss and Prince rule his world.
Oh yeah, The E Street Shuffle =
When I was a bit younger Bruce, Prince and Fela were like the holy triumvirate for me
and there you have it - sex, drugs(and more sex) and rocknroll
six degress of separation - Springsteen and Fela.
go!
This is a Vertigo poster?
From what country?
It's completely cool & insane, although not
very reminiscent of the film...
Springsteen > David Sancious > Stanley Clarke > Roy Ayers > Fela!
Is that 3 degrees or 5?
