I wanted make a definitive list of active funk and soul spins for my blog.This is for exclusively funk and or soul, no hip hop etc. crossover nights.Thanks

    Detroit[/b]: Last Friday of every month at the Contemporary Art Institute of Detroit. Current DJs are Frank Raines and Brad Hales (I typically spin a short set too), but the night has been going on for YEARS. SoulHawk used to play there as did Scott Craig among others. Doors open at 12am and close at 6:00. There's a huge outdoor courtyard, and you can BYOB. Definitely something I look forward to every month.

    Wow... fucktard. What I meant was, people doing the types of nights I'm talking about, who write on this board, many of whom I know & have met & spun with- probably understood where I was coming from. But nice comeback.

    FEDERAL SOUL - Every other Thursday
    at Federal - Durham NC

    Yes! And my roommate stopped what he was doing and asked what it was. That 2/3 breakdown sounds like the bridge from Sing a Simple Song but the rest is a mystery to me. An awesome, awesome mystery.
