I guess last nite was Stevie Wonder nite and it was probably one of the more entertaining episodes i've seen this season
kevin corvais is so so goofy that i kinda like him in a guilty pleasure way. he reminds me of someone out of peanuts. last nite he did "part-time lover" and had the funniest dance moves, i was dying. just the fact that he chose this[/b] song of all stevie songs is so befuddling. but it wasn't that bad. okay it was a pretty white bread rendition but his timing was on and it wasn't too "pitchy" but the goofy dance moves made it kinda endearing.paris killed it though. it's all about the young ones this year

i agree and i think taylor hicks is most overrated
dude i laughed out loud when that rocker guy said he was stressing out about singing a stevie song and then he "found out that the red hot chilli peppers song 'higher ground' was a stevie wonder song."
This is why I can't watch this show after the opening couple of freak show episodes.

Ms. Damn, I love Taylor Hicks! He NAILED it last night. But really, I think it's all about Elliot (get him some Invisalign braces and he's good to go) and Paris Bennett. She was great last night.

he gets on my nerves with his pseudo-spazz routine. OK, we get it, you have watche d a lot of Joe Cocker video. I mean, I want to like dude, cuz he is the closest thing to an actual blue-eyed soul singer that show has seen, but it just rubs me a bit wrong. I dig the gray hair, but you don't have to act like you have a neurological disorder in order to NOT resemble Michael McDonald. There are better ways.
I thought Taylor Hicks was a real fun entertainer.
Paris, yea she could sing.
Kevin, is i guess this season's Clay Aiken. He is entertaining though.
I didn't really care for the rest of the performers.

I disagree. Clay Aiken always sang the same kinda songs, was never entertaining to me and had no sense of humor. Plus he always had to project that stupid dreamy face. Kevin's like 16, not pretty and at least isn't afraid of Motown. i didn't think his Marvin Gaye performance was bad

I don't know about ya'll, but I CAN'T STAND that raspy smoker hack voice and I can't believe she forgot the lyrics on the chorus of her song, twice! Excuse my AI memory, but didn't Simon say during one of the earlier rounds that if you forget your lyrics that you'll be out of the competition? I know it's up to the TV audience at this point, but he gave her like four and a half stars worth of compliments after that bullshit performance. Why am I even watching anymore at this point?

IMO, definitely NOT HOT! Something about her annoys me to death, but I can't put a finger on it. Maybe its the total package, or lack there of.
Paris has the best voice but just doesn't look right - too small, too young. I hate saying that because she's my favorite but I don't see her making the final two. I hope I get proven wrong.
I heard odds makers are putting their bets on Chris. I don't hate the dude, he's got a good backstory but ugh, no more fucking rockers. After Bo Bice and Constantine from last year, I don't need another Scott Stapp wanna-be up there. He can take Bucky with him too - I don't dislike either guys but I'm not trying to ride for them either.
Catherine McPhee has a good voice but I can't place why she bugs me. Someone want to field this? On the other hand, I know exactly why I can't stand Kellie Pickler. She'll make final four though.
As will probably Ace who I hated until I heard him totally pull off "Butterflies".

Elliott is clearly the best. Dude could have sealed the deal last night since he has a Stevie voice, but he fucked up.
Taylor killed it last night. I find his avuncular shtick quite unbecoming, though.

you know i think this is why i like him. i'm am totally aware that he appeals to 12 year olds and that's why him performing "part-time lover" was such a WTF moment.
I hate to say it but she fits that "girl next door who does porn" stereotype (scary that there is a stereotype for that exact profile, isn't it?). For that reason, I'd actually root for her, just so she can go Carrie and not Jenna.
Okay, maybe i just haven't been watching long enough. I do remeber Makeila from last season, who worked her "charm" for Randy, but was otherwise an annoying biyotch.

I'm a fan. So what if he is a throw back, he's got a good voice and is one of the best performers out of the lot. Believe me, thinking I'm gonna be like Joe Cocker and be on American Idol is not a winning formula. The guy's gotta actually like that stuff to act like that.
