i used to do this with the pc version and the 2000xl. the mac is similar no doubt. I assume youre working with reaktor 4.
on the mpc side:
1. midi cable should be in output a, going into midi in on the midisport
2. shift-9 (midi/sync) ---> sync out mode: midi clock
reaktor side
1. make sure the midisport input is set to "on" in the midi settings
2. under the settings tab, check off "external sync"
connect your sequencer synth/sampler dealio up to the mixer. hit play on the mpc. it should work.
whenever i did it, it would play all sequencers i have at once. so as for getting to play one but not another, thats a little trickier. still possible though... it would just require some manual midi configuration (eep)
if that dont work let me know. you might need to bust some mac screen snaps out so i can see whats up with the mac version

if you just wanna control a synth thats easier.
set the track on the mpc to midi and blam! your gray pads are synth pads
