To add on even more, there's this cracked out Nonesuch record where dude plays a traditional Korean miniature silk string violin. Sounds like a wailing woman in a Chinese opera, killer shit. Cool art on the cover too. Peace T.N.
"The Wizard" on that Frank Lowe is actually an Asian player with the last name Chung. I can't recall the first name, but it's not White, Bang or Jenkins.
Aref is the man on tabla, and I think he has L. Shankar playing violin. This came out on the first Eastern Drum and Breaks compilation by the Nasha UK crew.

Malcolm Goldstein Harley Gaber TAKEHISA KOSUGI
Dante, could you elaborate a bit on Malcolm Goldstein and Harley Garber?
The first song I thought of (and one that I'm sure you've all heard) is Frank Zappa's cover of Little Richard's "Directly From My Heart To You" on Weasels Ripped My Flesh. Don "Sugarcane" Harris burns a hole through this one. One of my favorite Zappa tunes, and no JLP in sight.
