Looks good, but what is the purpose of the XML file? I'm pretty ignorant about such things. The only podcasts I usually get are from iTunes.
Copy the link with the .xml extension http://www.waxingdeep.org/radio/waxingdeep.xml then go into iTunes. In the "Advanced" menu, select "Subscribe to podcast" then paste the link into the box that comes up then you're rockin' Waxing Deep
Dan--You rule![/b] Thanks for the link, I will be enjoying your show on the choo-choo tonight!

The feed, or xml file is a document that the newsfeed reader or podcast catcher can read. It splits the info into categories and when it updates, your reader updates. It's automatic web browsing so to speak. Anyway, when there is a certain kind of file, like an mp3, you can have the software automatically download it and it will be waiting for you in your player or iPod, hence the name, "podcasting". So your app sits there and waits for the feed to update so you don't have to browse to the page, right-click, and all that waste of time stuff. It's seems kind of complicated, which is why what iTunes has done is real great. Apple had nothing to do with creating Podcasting BTW. Itunes makes the process of setting up more user friendly, but it's really not hard, just technical. Once you're set up you never have to worry about it. Kinda like TiVo for internet radio.
I am now subscribed to Waxing Deep. Great stuff, thanks.
Thanks for the compliments, folks. Last week's show was a good one, but sadly the last until January. I've got law exams for the next two weeks and then I'm enjoying a brief reprieve from this backwoods hick town in Toronto.
I highly recommend bending corners (bendingcorners.com) great jazz podcasts that are regularly updated.Check out 'spirits within' and the strata east special.
