Ebony Jam Band LP (Starbound) - sealed private press! indemand deep blaxploitation disco with a space vibe :P
You know, I have tried not to be condescending in recent times. But for christ sake man this record was discovered in large quantity and they are all sealed. Nice record, but not a remarkable find. Now the quantity itself, that was a remakable find.
Not bad...the A side has three versions of the "Freak On My Line" cut which is pretty mediocre. The B side has three cuts with "Get Funky" being the highlight and "Love" is a cool female vocal ballad...the third cut "On A Roll" has a Jazzy Jeff reference which makes the whole damn LP
Odetta- Sings (Polydor) [feelin this] Sonia Sanchez- Sun Lady for all Seasons (Folkways) Robert Wyatt- Rock Bottom (Virgin) " " - Ruth is Stranger than Richard " John Klemmer- All the Children Cried (Cadet Concept) Walt Harper- at Fallingwater (Birmingham) [spare, vg]
here's a dumb little dude question but how do you tell the OG "Death Rap" from the reissue? I'm guessing if I see it it's a reissue but just wondering.
The record in the front is one my grandparents old neighbor lady and family friend brought over with some others that aren't included in this photograph (some blues, some conuntry, and comedy). Anyway, it's a TOTALLY foul-mouthed Rudy Ray Moore production, spoken from a woman to women about how best to f*ck their man, on side A. I'm talking graphic shit! Side B is a question and answer session that I haven't had a chance to listen to yet, but every real player needs to have this in his collection, just in case shorty ain't actin' right...
Also, props to SonicReducer for being the f*cking hommie in regards to everything besides the Eddie Holman. Detroit fam don't play! Much appreciated.
I can't believe that it's taken this long to get a cheap copy of the Holman, but this one skips in a few places, ugh. I'm already in need of a better copy. Such a good album.
thrifts, fleas, and crazy weird junk shops that i think people had been squatting in (most ridiculous and trashed out place i ever walked into--80-something old frail grumpy guy whose hand kept twitching and he had some kid who played a mute helper--he looked like he came out of that movie gummo--funny thing is that it was right along two busy routes in jersey!)
bermuda strollers is autographed
clash 12" came with stencil!

balinese gamalan record that is so dope!
perry como??? why of all things a perry como?? well, what is that that i see peeking out of that como record?
Ah yes, I BELIEVE it is a mega raer 1920s pic disc 78!!!
rudy's pre photoshop head swapping (no wiener) is the best. i didnt know about the "limited" edition! I got the regular, with red background, and someone had the nerve (or wisdom) to scratch off the, er, other 'head' zone on my copy. now i know what i was missing...
