hi there,i picked up an album on the UK/London based 'Studio One' library label:The George King Organ Sounds b/w The Joe Corney Multi-Organ-Soundsgreat early 70's maybe very late 60's sounding. asked a couple of UK dealers (like res) but they couldn't help me, some have never heard of that album... you can't know 'em all, i know!i'm totally NOT a library specialist, have only a few library albums as i'm not into sampling & stuff... i've seen some others a while ago but they were later 70's and not really my taste!maybe one of you knows a bit something to tell about that labeldoes it have something to do with the (german based?) Sonoton label? any other good records?many thanks

i got a whole set of these somewhere, i'll try to dig out some of the goods ones to make a list.
great covers - i want a deck like that
it's written "Berry Music" on the label!
do you know if some of this stuff came out on other library labels? outside of the UK..
PM me if you have a list.. i'm quite interested if it's similar to George King!
cheers
There??s is BERRY MUSIC somehow connected to
(with different covers of the records).
There are some nasty things to be found !
Enjoy

hi seb, thanks.
the connections here seem to be pretty obscure..
this means that they first came out in the UK and were distributed with different covers in germany under the SONOTON label... very interesting!
cheers
Hi again!
Not fully true :
the STUDIO ONE releases have different covers than the BERRY MUSIC releases.
S.O had mostly covers of people and/or mixing desks on front and backside,
B.M covers with tracklistings on front and back with different colours.
SONOTON is quite different, the early albums had some pretty nice drawings
on front cover and always the multi-coloured side which gave the name "colorsound library".
They were only the distributor without being involved into the production (as far as I know) which you may easily find by comparing the artists (Joel the flute player of BRAINTICKET has made a whole lot of releases for SONOTON for example but you only find ETIENNE CAP (trumpet player) on STUDIO ONE or INTERSOUND not on SONOTON)
Also the style is totally different :
SONOTON is more towards electronic stuff as STUDIO ONE offers tons of breaks with organ and wah wah sounds jumping between psyche rock and funky jazz.
Enjoy

very interesting, thanks! one tune on the George King LP is absolutely massive! mohwaks alike funky organ and a killer groove... i wonder if that came out on another label... i remember it was on a german comp. have to search if i still have that one...
is this early Studio One stuff hard to find? honestly i've never stumbled over anything on that label nor did i saw that George King on any lists before...
cheers, rainer
