OK, the thread about protools and memory has me shook to run serato on my laptop. I'm running 256mb and it definitely needs an upgrade. My question is this - every generic that I find seems to have certain reviews where dudes are saying "this doesn't work with Mac" and shit. If I do the legit mac route I will be paying over double what a generic costs. Can someone stand behind a generic memory chip that will work in a G4 Powerbook running at 1.33ghz?I am looking to do either 512 mb or 1 g. I have an open slot. Nohomo. Thanks.

they both use pc2700, which is pretty common ram. In terms of generic, I haven't had any problems but obviously I can't say it'll 100% work. Macs used to be much more pickier than they are nowadays. Best is to buy from a place that allows returns.
or if not, just spring for the lower ranges of brand name ram like Kingston valueram. That'll definitely work.

i wish this thread was about a regional gangsta raper named Mac Memory with an album called knowz the dealz
I got an Odyssey(?) 1g chip off of ebay for cheap. And it's a very easy user-install too. I'll double check when I get home today and let you know.

it has been good to me, you can even search for ram by system.
