and I got Odyssey 5 "First Time Around" (Brunswick) for $2 on buy-it-now off ebay. I think it's the OG when I compare to what else this dealer had up.

  • I don't think odyssey 5 is the reish. here's the picture from the ebay auction.

Local yard sale today got me a few minor joints for cheap,

with these two being the most interesting:

Also cool was this jazz practice double record, "Applied Modal Improvisation" on Dick Grove Records that has some really cool "music minus one" type tracks with just electric piano and drums, etc.

The other ish was the Mtume "Rainbow People" LP, a couple of Roy Merriweather Trio records (yawn) and "Exotic Island" by The Surfmen.

Same yard sale got me "McCabe & Mrs. Miller" and "The Drowning Pool" on VHS, probably the best scores of the lot.

  • passed up Rock requim by Lalo Schifrin. Shouldn't I have...?

I dig this record. I guess it depends on what it's going for. Under $10 would be worth a cop IMO.
