beside the fact that I can't study the whole "Soulstrut history" cause I have other (less entertaining,of course ) things to study......

so if you like to give an help with my post is fine,

but please don't start the whole "where soulstrut is coming to" with me

here I ALWAYS post ONLY abt music ......

......also my post wasn't abt "who is friend with alphonse mouzon?"...

..it was abt which one , of his record (..if any..) is more soul funk oriented..

  • Ok, here's the deal: Raj posted a Mouzon cut--yes, there are several funky Mouzon albums--and his lawyer sent the site a cease and desist order. If I remember correctly, it was very funny. Then someone posted a picture of Alphonse wearing very tight pants and we all chuckled.

  • yeah, try a tune called "funky snakefoot" its pretty funky

    Alphonse Mouzon

How about those early 80's ones, with the all-star lineups like Freddie Hubbard, etc..."By All Means" being one that I see and have never pulled the trigger on...anybody know if they are worth the $6-8 I see them for?

They are usually doodoo all the way. Cheesy disco with Al singing really bad on it. There is one track from his disco era that is straight fiyah, can't remember the name of it. My friend Woody has it on a 12" and I think it's on Vanguard.

  • this album:

is pretty nice overall, and has this one track called Space Invaders that is

I'll try to remember to post an MP3 when I get home from work today.

I have that too,and I like that song too (snowbound)..
....too bad that the rest of the album is rock-fusion oriented.......

    great cover though

"...is better you sue those soulstrutters,dude.."

  • "the jogger" is also a very nice track. (i think it's on "by all means")

Damn...this sounds like some amazing Strut history. Anyone have a link to the above event(s)?

Also...to answer OP's question. I think this is pretty funky/good:

    Label: Blue Note Records
Lowdown: Alphonse Mouzon will possibly go down as one of jazz's
best drummers ever (yes, even if he dabbled in cringing late 70s
disco cheez-funk.) Mouzon's 1975 ode to the Big Apple gives beat
heads a splendid break intro, followed by a complete wah orgy!
