Who's the better "rapper"? Both are have good "raps" on various albums. Hayes' "by the time i get to phoenix" is a good example. Barry could rap his ass off.Which do you prefer? Millie Jackson also does her thang as well. Its a lost art.No one in contemporary r&b comes to mind(maybe Janet Jackson).Also name some other SOUL/FUNK/R&B acts who "rap". No LAST poets rap either.

That's why I like him. Ike's raps have that human touch (especially when he gets a little "catch" in his throat)...even though he had no business rapping to his best friend's girl, you're still kinda rooting for him (on "I Stand Accused"). And he's not afraid to crack a joke every now and then (as on the Live At The Sahara Tahoe elpee). Barry, on the other hand, may as well have been reading from a script (although his "I don't want to see no panties monologue is a SCREAM...).
