I haven't read the magazine in awhile, but I like the tip they gave out of going to Wal-Mart and putting a bag of M&M's on layaway.

You must be kidding! Time magazine is the same thing as entertainment weekly. There is no serious news in Time. Time and Newsweek have both turned into entertainment magazines with big color photos that pretend to be news magazines.
That's my point. Time is not so hot but they at least have a few news items per issue and the occasional Nova-esque feature.
Entertainment Weekly = plan crap, The Source = Entertainment Weekly for hip hop/r&b, and Maxim = softcore porn for guys who are either too embarrassed to buy real porn or would like to look at porn at the office and can't.
If you want news, read a REAL news magazine or journal. My favorites are The Economist, The Far Eastern Economic Review and Foreign Affairs.
