I am looking for HomeTeam - Via Satellite from Saturn and PoisonClan - 2 Low Life Muthas, seems like a long shot that someone has these but i figured i’d ask cause you just never know. I am also looking for a copy of “Rock on Crew” - Deal With This(early 2 live crew shit)

if anyone has either of these mp3’d i would be beyond appreciative.

  • Lol I had that Rock On Crew CD although I have the distinct feeling I threw it out or donated it.

Probably stating the obvious, but have you tried ripping it from YouTube or paying the $9 to macola (if it’s serious)

poison clan are underappreciated.  this was always the b-side to "good day" for me

i had the rock on crew cd as well but somehow in a move i lost it, honestly i cherish my Luke Records/Skyywalker Records music, that shit hit me in 89 and that was it! after first hearing "as clean as they wanna be" and knowing there was another version, I'd go to Sams here in Hali and special order that shit and have my mind blown that there was music like that...lol. was lucky enough to buy the first 3 cassettes when it was still Skyywalker (before Georgy boy sued). by the time i hit grade 11 (92-ish) i was wearing hurricanes gear and only listening to 2 live crew (not sure what it really was that got me, but i think it was those fucking megamix's Mr Mixx would do and the beats), back in those days my "dj heros" were dj Alladin, Jazzy Jeff and Mr Mixx. the fact that Mixx was one of the first (if not the first) dj to do turntablism type shit is crazy and ALL those megamixx's are insanely dope and i cant think of any other crew/group that had tracks just dedicated to the dj to flex on.

2 Live changed the trajectory of hiphop and seriously pushed the envelope and created Miami Bass and really dont get the credit they deserve, they werent fake about their image. It sucks they went through so much bullshit... after "2 live is what we are" Fresh Kid Ice had the accident and nearly died. Luke gets respect for being a dope dj and promoter...but man THAT guy, lol... fucked it all up (he was the first to bring hiphop to Miami). Marquis was killing it with RodneyO before Mixx called him and is still one of the dopest emcees i have heard. Mr Mixx had his life changed by Bambaataa and Afrika Islam in 82 which lead to him buying an 808 for $300.

aside from all the nasty ass music, the tracks that they had that werent about fucking are worth listening too, Mr Mixx was the first to smash the Amen Break on "Feel Alright Y'all" and that track still goes hard as fuck...

ugh sorry for the wall of text..the documentary "the bass that ate miami" was dope but 2 Live Crew needs their own documentary.

@Ketan - dude thank you for the drop, i owe you and appreciate you! - my vinyl collection and cassette collection is on point but i dont have anyway to convert my shit right now, these were the only ones i was missing. (that HomeTeam is straight classic backpack rap)
