    Judging from the helpfully detailed description Stretch gives to the tape, it isn't one of the KMEL mixes. I don't think it's the Reconstructing Hip-Hop one that's floating around from '91 either.

    That said, those early mixes rule. I'd forgotten how much of a cut-n-paste guy he started out as, with Lesson 4 and all that, and revisiting that stuff is great. I wish KMEL had been that experimental when I started listening to it as a kid, just a couple years later.

    Thanks for the responses!  Yeah, it's a different mix...and I wonder if Shadow himself asked for it to be taken down.  I reached out to Stretch Armstrong directly via his Instagram account, and will let you all know if he responds!
