I can’t believe this!
DAMN. And it was 2 months ago on Halloween! Crazy that your favorite rappers favorite rapper passes away 2 months ago and the world never knew until today.
RIP.
Remembrance from the first time I ever heard him.
A Gas Face can either be a smile or a smirk
When appears, a monkey wrench to work one's clockwork
Perkin his brim to the rim of my cup
Don't tempt me, you're empty, so fill'er up!
Is I'm talkin coffee or cocoa, is you loco?
Cash or credit for unleaded at Sunoco
KMD and 3rd Bass is just ace in the hole
I mean soul, so make the Gas Face (HUAHAHA)
Damn, if looks could kill
You look like host was a ghost from your grill
But still, what's the new fed, to recollect
To our passing phase to facades to '80-deca
For my label reads Hood, street might have a tattoo
Don't pick any card or no rabbit from my hat
Never a magician if I ever tricked em
"Oh shit!" Another Gas Face victim
That's how I kicks it, for 80-deca

RIP :(
What the fuck 2020.
that KMD verse was also my first exposure to him, and on the first rap album I ever had, as a like... 6-7 year old?
I am thankful for having gained & learned so much from his music, (and grateful for being able to dig deep about it here).

I will never forget the P show in Berkeley when I was a student there, at the student union bar or something, PACKED to hell, and the crowd was jumping so hard to "The Hang Loose" that the whole PA system cut out and they finished the song a capella and still rocked it.
Seeing Double DJ like he did as well, jumping from the mic to scratch interludes, was kinda mind blowing to me as a fresh faced turntablism nerd too. Scratching didn't have to be for 80 dudes in hoodies stock still squinting at somebody's knuckles vibrating on a stage, it was for a fucking party. Their music has been part of my life since I was fifteen. It's the rap I recommended to cloistered types in New Zealand who didn't "get" the genre yet. Some great live memories and great records.
I love his music, I hope it lives forever. Thanks for the memories. Peace to Thes and all family. Really bringing a tear to my eye.
