Sadly, I lost a lot of his mixes in a hard drive crash.

oooh i'm sure i have many of them too, but they'd be scattered across storage drives of the past, which i don't have with me at the time being.

have you tried looking elsewhere on the internet?  (like, <frank gossner mix>)  there's a mix up on his soundcloud too: https://soundcloud.com/voodoo-funk

He has a Mixcloud account also. I didn't check to see if it had the same mixes posted as on Soundcloud.

    FRANK!!??

(I think he said a while back, but maybe that'll help?)

Ive checked all those sites before my plea for mix. Not searching for tracklist or for any other reason than that is a special mix to me and my cd copy is in condition comparable to many of those wonderful records he salvaged from the depths of Africa. Im going to track down THE MAN. Thanks for the bumps.

I think it was mix #6 I liked the most; it was Afro boogie and disco - loads of long hypnotic facemelters. When I asked Frank about that mix he said all those records where in storage. The re-issuing he’s done has been great, but he seems to have focused more on the rare Afro funk records which often sound like the whole band was recording into one cheap mic.

I have an equally primitive early MP3 player called a Zen Creative that has Frank’s early mixes (and some unGoogleable J.Rocc stuff), but the thing crashed. If I’m ever feeling rich I might take it to a tech dude and see if anything is recoverable.

Smiled when I read this.  I have a Zen Nano Plus kicking around with all sort of great stuff from bitd that I find every couple of years, listen to for a few days and then promptly misplace again (it's tiny).

I've taken down the blog after Photobucket wanted to charge me $400/year or something stupid like that for a plan that would allow for "third party image hosting".

    Doisn,  „togetherness“ is from this..

    Herzlichen Dank!

  • So what're you up to now Frank, post-record hustling? Still DJ?

I'm not dj-ing anymore. For the moment I'm working on something new which doesn't physically involve the raer but is sort of centered around it. I'll lift the veil once I'm confident that what's underneath is presentable.
