Hey Everybody, I did a guest mix for 45live.net:
SOULERCOASTER:
A Thrill Ride of Body-Shaking Funk 45s
It's got twists, turns, and death-drops of glorious gospel and fuzzy psych, covers of The Ohio Players, Chicago, and Frank Sinatra, and selections from Mexico and Thailand!
Track list included.

Everything about that song is cool. I want to visit her. Just to hang.
And Mr. Slowly of course
The drums on that Della Reese were ahead of their time (1966)!
My mind was blown when I heard the original version of Mr. Slowly ("sing a mean tune, kid" by Chicago). I had only known it because AKO posted it up here 10 years ago as "unknown Thai funk".
Thanks man! I was going for a certain "mood flow".
RIP Della Reese
She wrote a chorus for her version of "it was a very good year":
"I can recall like it was yesterday
Everything seems so clear
Memories of things time cannot wash away
These are my cherished years"
She had some very good years....
