Hey,
This is awful news, as a great composer, musician, and trailblazer has left the building. People don't realize that Mr. Worrell was the architect of the hit-making sound of Parliament-Funkadelic from the 1970s onward. He re-joined the group after completing his studies at the New England Conservatory of Music. While I love all of his Parliament-Funkadelic work, here is a song from his solo LP that I love (and included on my "Get Up and Boogie" mix). RIP, Mr. Worrell, and thank you for your landmark contributions to music. Indeed, your legacy will live on.
So sad, such an influential artist. His work with Funkadelic/Parliment was ground breaking. He helped make Talking Heads one of my favourite groups as well.
