I'm going to a conference at EXPO UNIMED TEATRO POSITIVO. What neighborhood should i stay in? The Strut always comes through when i have these questions.

I did like the Museu Oscar Niemeyer and the crazy tube bus stations. I didn't make it to the absurdly named Elvis Costella restaurant, which looks like it has closed. There is a train into the mountains that takes tourists to a historic city Morretes or to the coast but it didn't look worth the time so I didn't bother.

from what I understand they're all close to each other, the used record shops in Brazil all tend to stay in the city's old downtown area, I'm sure Curitiba is no different.
also, I've never been to Curitiba, but I hear that train ride up the mountain is actually pretty nice. You can probably find some good local beers too, southern Brazil is where the best microbrews are being made right now. And the local specialty is a beef stew type thing called barreado.
