    Oh man... HUGE LOSS.  Allen is one of the truly unsung heroes in the music industry.

    Get Out My Life Woman goes toe to toe as one of the best songs ever written (and covered a million times to boot).

    Hits as a performer/songwriter/producer in the 50s, 60s, 70s.
    continued to selectively write and producer up till the end.
    Successful career as concert performer starting in the 90s to the day he died.
    I never saw him, but friends who did rave about how great he was live.

    Man a lot of old musician RIP threads don't really move me, everybody has to go sometime, but this is real hard to hear. I was listening to Soul Sister on the way to work earlier today. And yeah GOMLW is a top fifty song of all time.
