Hearing Panama was a seminal moment of quirky funkiness for sure.
Managed to get, via to good offices of McFadin and Lun&Haight;, permission to use it in a radio ad for a club night we were running in Soho.
Ad didn't happen, club night went tits up after a few months, but Panama, Jessica and Ooh have remained.

His semi-autobiography, "There And Back" with David Keller, is well worth a read. It was written a short time before his death and raer resurgence.

Speaking of ads, Van's Shoes used the intro fill to the "Party Time" break in the CGI animated one used for DVD promo spots such as "Dazed and Confused"
