    It's a beautiful copy. My co-worker's dad sold me his collection a few months a go. Mint classic rock titles for days.... talking about t-Rex, Bowie, New York Dolls, Lou Reed, Zeppelin, Stones....

    used to think "leaving this planet" was by far the weakest track on that record, now I think the opposite.

    From the sleeve notes of the "Pulse" Series:

    Physical exercise to music can greatly help to organise rationally our work and rest. Both musical and human motion rhythms may be classed as "functional", with an essential influence on Man's health and productivity. The present record is a joint venture of the Melodia sound-recording firm and the USSR Sport Committee, first in a planned series under "Pulse" heading meant to emphasize the vital importance of physical culture.

    "Pulse 1" of the "Sport & Music" series is recommended to accompany coaching sessions, sport festivals, competitions and other active recreations. The series will be sufficiently versatile to adapt to various purposes that music can serve in sports. The series' first disc (30 cm diametre (12"), 45 rpm) acquaints the public with electronic music composed with the help of an individual musical computer, for the first time in the USSR.

    The scores were created on the display with the subsequent recording to magnetic tape. The composition is based on suites of contrasting instrumental miniatures.

    We hope that the joint effort of Melodia and the USSR Sports Committee will promote Soviet electronic music in sports.

    nice work ketan. ypu need to czeck neptoon on main, then head over to audiopile on commercial drive, check in the drawers. then walk down the hill to the world music joint (i forgert the name but its about 3 blocks down the hill and on the other side of the street as audiopile) and report back. if you see any walter zuber armstrongs, pacific salts for cheap you should grab them.

    Ah, i was in van last weekend, but I'm back in July so I'll check out that circuit for sure.

    This trip was amazing. Stayed next door to the MOA (which is facemelting) and ate so much good food.

    Some finds from Eugene's Top Score record show last weekend.


    I'm trying to buy more 45s, but I'm not that good at it yet.

    Rico; Jamaican trombone player was in the Specials. This record is on Blue Note, instrumental reggae, perhaps their first non-jazz record. Or non-Blue-Note-style-jazz record.

    Records from the past couple of months, most all field. Had no idea just how amazing the N Davis was... top jazz. Same with the Tough Tenors LP, the Martino Lp, total unknowns to me until now.
